Slow News Day?

I wish I knew how to quit you, Heath Ledger

Damn, I Ain't No Oprah beat me to it. By over 12 hours.

So what else do we have for news today?

Well, this in my town made top story news yesterday during the lunch hour:

The great thing about Vermont's low crime rate? Not seeing big city news like Boston or New York: murder-murder-murder. Vermont's news? Weed debates-Impeach Bush rallies-Little old ladies on the loose.

I know, someday I'm going to be doing a post on some of my British ancestors that came from Bucks. I'm not sure if they were from Aylesbury area or Buckingham, I know one is buried in Hartwell near Aylesbury. Have you ever heard of Lenborough or Lethenborough Manor?

Whenever I think of little old ladies on the loose I get a vivid mental image of the Monty Python sketch.

Redbeard: I live in Buckinghamshire myself. Maybe it says that on my profile.. can't remember.

Al I know about Lenborough Manor is that it is in a place called Gawcott. Oddly enough, I drive past Buckingham and Gawcott when I go to my specialist hospital centre (in Oxford). Small world!

That link gives a bit of info about Lenborough manor. Aylesbury isn't far from me either. I've driven through it a few times.

You must tell us about your ancestory!

J: We could be long lost cousins. Myself and about 1000s of others, but yeah I've found some surprising things last year, some of which I've blogged about, they would be tagged as 'genealogy' and/or 'England'.

Some controversial historical figures closely tied to my family tree, which is why I've taken quite an interest in 16th and 17th century English history.

SP: I love that skit! It's been awhile since I've seen some good Monty Python.

Stephen, you got to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Cousin Steve.

I'm like you; other than big cities like Charlotte/Raliegh/Greensboro, NC is a pretty tame state when it comes to news. Immigration is the hot topic of the day.

pashaw...immigration has been around since Ellis Island and they're all acting like it's some NEW issue.
