Monday Dance Video? & Elton John Day!!

Since I haven't really embarrassed myself yet here on this blog, I thought it was about high time that I did. Ok so I was bored today and saw Erika's vlog entries and her link to the news people doing dances, and I've been thinking about doing this one for some time, so here it is! If only I could dance as crazy as Aaron Behrens of Ghostland Observatory.

Also today is Elton John Day. We don't have tickets. Sold Out. But it's an outdoor concert at the fairgrounds, sometimes we can hear the concerts from our house a mile away. We need to do laundry anyway. Laundry place is right in front of the fairgrounds. So is McDonald's. So we walk from the laundromat over to McDonald's picnic tables and hear it for free.

The stage where Sir Reginald Dwight will be playing. (Actually, probably not, this is the second stage they have set up today for a country music festival.)

Local music store displaying Elton John's Red Yamaha Piano, valued at $80,000.

The store was closed so I took a picture from outside the window. I'll take a better one when the shop is open. It was a foggy rainy day Sunday when these were taken. It appears Elton brought the English weather with him.

I came really close to kicking Sierra when I did it, I was out of control!

I don't know if anyone's noticed yet, but you can see her head bopping around in the bottom of the screen, she was getting in on the dancing.

For reference, here's the lyrics: (from ghostlandobservatory.net)

Got a man that holds you tight
Got a man that treats you right
Got a man that loves you, that hugs you

I swear

Got a man that brings a beat
Got man that can't be beat
Got a man that loves you, that hugs you

I swear

I declare

Ooh I swear

I declare

Got to give, got to give
Got to live, got to live
Got to give, got to give
Got to live

Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down

Yeah

Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down

Yeah, yeah

[Piano Solo]

Got a man that stays the night
got a man that fights a fight
got a man that hugs you, that loves you

I swear

Got a man that brings a beat
Got man that can't be beat
Got a man that hugs you, that loves you

I swear

I declare

ooh i Swear

I Declare

Got to give, got to give
Got to live, got to live
Got to give, got to give
Got to live

Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down

Yeah

Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down
Don't stop, get on down

Yeah, Yeah

[Piano Solo]

REDBEARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have made not JUST my day but my entire week. This was GREAT. I gave you a standing ovation at the end and held up my imaginary lighter for an encore. Suddenly, you make me want to do one of these things, too. There's no way I can compete with that, 'though.

Technically speaking, you did VERY well handling the "air keyboard solos." From personal experience, I know that a lengthy "air keyboard solo" can be hard to soldier through and make or break an "air performance." You acquitted yourself with aplomb.

Oh, awesome. Just awesome awesomemost.

Hope you guys enjoy the picnic table concert!

THANKS!

P.S. I also spotted Sierra. Very funny!

Oh wow - I was convinced it was you singing for a second too! Noticing you had no band behind you let me know you were just lipsyncing (lipsinging?) - anyway - smooth moves for a white guy. I was rather impressed!

If I could ever figure out where my webcam saves stuff to, I might be so inclined to do something..... but I can't so I won't (whew!)

Redbeard! You are awesome!!!!!!

And I spotted Sierra too! :-)

I kept expecting the camera to pan out and include her in the shot. Dancing With the Stars has got nuthin' on you guys. Woo-Hoo!

And to think Clinky had to go all the way to China to generate this kind of excitement!

HA !! Dig those moves Redbeard!

We need more of this sort of thing. Everyone does.

NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@jayne - that was my happy dance, knowing that you were alive!

@lois - thanks! although clinky never came to mind when I was making it, it might help! no one was holding the camera, it was done on webcam, i wish i had more of sierra in the shot, but then i would have scared everyone off with my pasty white legs.

@petra - you should be able to change the settings where your webcam saves files. change it to my pictures or wherever you save usual stuff. anything you've taken so far will be filed under the software's name, for example mine is "youcam".

I might actually do some singing videos in the future.

I was kind of expecting "Goodbye yellow brick road" or something, LOL

Ha! Okay, that was hilarious...nicely done! I could never do that.

::goes off to insist that Sparkle do a Stones or McCartney song so that she can sing along with it...::

Cake said...

Oh and glad the Elton John was fun, too! Yay!

Mr Redbeard, I have never met you before either online or IRL, but after watching that video I feel that we have a certain kinship. If you should ever find yourself in The Goat, a pub in Tottenham London, I will buy you a drink and insist on us forming a karaoke duo. It would stun the locals senseless.

PS:- I am completely serious :D
