Apologies for being inactive yesterday. Apparently either a stomach bug or food poisoning affected me and the missus yesterday and I'm still physically and mentally drained from it. I'm feeling better today, so it must be one of those 24 hour things, although I'm afraid to put anything in my stomach as it is feeling on edge still for the most part.
Since yesterday I've had the following to eat:
1 English muffin, with butter and strawberry jam
3 peach fruit cups
2 bites of a cinnamon brown sugar pop tart
Other than that I've just been drinking water.
Fortunately, I was able to avoid most of the daytime TV rubbish. I had a number of recorded programs on my DVR, including "Keys to the Castle" hosted by John Barrowman. However, the missus made me sit through the god-awful Steve Wilkos show.
The best thing to come out of this: I feel like I've lost 10 pounds. And I got started on my taxes, I'm almost done except I need paperwork for just one thing. Yippee.
Oh Boy! Another Bubble Tea Joint!

I feel for ya--we went through that in December.
What's "Keys to the Castle"?
Keys to the Castle is an HGTV show (I'm not sure if it was a one-time special or a series) where John visits castles in Britain where people are still calling them home as opposed to giving them over to the National Trust as historic homes. Kind of like a Cribs for castles, it was simply awesome.
Ugh. I swear I would cut off my right arm if it would guarantee I would never throw up again.
Interesting fact I learned when I was doing daycare: We do not really get as many stomach bugs as we think we do. Those viruses typically attack those with compromised immune systems, small children and the elderly. More often than not, what we think is a stomach bug is usually food poisoning, which makes sense when a whole family comes down with it, because we all usually eat the same things for a meal. The reason for the staggering of symptom appearance and severity is just our individual body giving up the fight against the cause.
Ok, lesson over. I really hope you all start feeling better soon!
FEEL BETTER, REDBEARD!
Surprisingly, Sierra made it through without getting sick, although she was glad to have her daddy home yesterday, as miserable as I was. But yeah, I think it was actually food poisoning, I think we had a batch of bad meat that we had frozen then thawed out.
The missus is still having stomach cramping, although we've regained control of our digestive systems for the most part. I'm still waiting for my appetite to come back. But for the most part, I'm feeling better.
Oh bugger...hope you feel better quickly.
::passes over the gingerale, gatorade, and chicken soup...from a safe distance, with a germ mask on::
Ooooh no! Relieved to read you are in control of your digestive systems (bowels then).
Hope you all feel better soon. Chucking up is horrid.
I'm not helping am I.
Umm... have some tea.
*Jayne passes over the tea*
I haven't felt right since Lois mentioned the onion yogurt... but thanks everyone. Nice new picture, Jayne. Oooh, tea! And it is right about my teatime. I think I can keep that down.
dawn - wow girl, HOW do you know this stuff =]!
I hope the household is feeling better. A stomach bug blows!
Stephen, sorry to hear you guys had been sick; I'm with Dawn on the throwing up thing. I'd rather get shingles.
At least you got it out of the way before the weekend, man.
HOWDY! You are definitely a blogger who would make great use of the video-embedding thingy!
Here's my techy advice here, too (copying and pasting is my super power).
From the dashboard, click on "Layout." Then click "Add a Page Element," click "Video Bar," click "Add to Blog." In the box labeled "Keywords," paste in the identifying code for the video you want. This appears at the end of the hyperlink right after v=.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_qd0Zl8CiA
You would paste in: 4_qd0Zl8CiA
Click "Save Changes." Et voila! I think that should do it unless I've missed a critical step. I don't think I have!
Keep feelin' better!
Thanks Sparkle, however it just kept showing as "Loading...". I embedded it a different way, just adjusted the pixel size.
