Insult to Injury

About a month ago, I wrote about THIS. As a reprise, I get my statement in the mail from The Evil Company, the one that rhymes with You Floss Moo Field.

They say none of these charges will be covered. And if I don't respond to the "enclosed questionnaire" within 45 days, this bill will be denied. Hmmm, funny, I looked and there were only 2 pages of statement, no questionnaire. I had to look all over it for a telephone number so I can call for my questionnaire that I never received. Now I've lost the statement and I need to call them. Nothing seems to be going right about this, and it really shouldn't be a hassle.

Forgive me for another soap-box moment, but please indulge me. Please continue in your support of Barack Obama for President, and if you haven't already, please rent the film Sicko.

Hopefully I won't get sick again too soon. As we were cleaning our room last night, we found a good sized patch of mold on the wall. Of course I cleaned it up with bleach, but I hope I didn't inhale too much of it, but who knows how long it's been there. We could have been breathing that in for months, who knows. It's gone now, but I worry about my long-term health effects because of it.

In good news in the past few days, Red Sox manager Terry Francona signed on for 3 more years, extending his contract through 2011. Hear that? That's a sigh of relief. It's well deserved of course, having won 2 championships in the past 4 years.

Lastly, shame on you HRC and Ralph Nader. SHAME.

Paperwork is the bane of my life (sort of). I won't tolerate bad service from companies either. Grrrrr.

Good luck with that.

SHAME! SHAME* is correct, sir! Good luck with this, indeed. I'm also sorry to hear about the mold--that stuff is so prevalent.

*Ya know? It actually feels pretty good to say "SHAME!" slowly shakes head over Nader--ya know, he used to pretty much be a force for good

Stephen, I cancelled our insurance with that poor excuse of a company and moved on to another. Bunch of thugs when they want your money, but you can't find them when you need them.

You have an condo, right? If you rent, get the landlord in there and have the place cleaned. Mold is nothing to mess with, man.

And I haven't forgotten about the email I need to send you. I'll try and do it tonight.

Actually the mold is nobody's fault but my own. If I hadn't kept a pile of blankets, pillows and dirty laundry near the wall on that corner of the room, it wouldn't have been allowed to breed the way it did. It's gone now, hopefully for good, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to the landlord.

Stuff I've learned about mold the hard way, just in case it's useful:

- If you have a poorly insulated outer wall, make sure anything kept up against that wall is a few inches out so that air can circulate.
- Bleach is fine but it's hard on the lungs and not so good for ya...AND this stuff actually works better and it's safe for kids and pets, too:

(It smells like thyme, which is a bit odd...but it works.)

Just my two cents...and good luck with the paperwork! No fun at all, that.

REDBEARD! Dude. DUUUUUUUUUUDE. I know that I go several days without posting a new post, but it is because I am old and feeble and forget to do so. Wait. What was I just saying? Who are you? Where is my crunchy topping?
