The Only Non-Led Zeppelin Fan

Tonight, as heavily promoted, will be the Led Zeppelin reunion concert at the O2 Arena in London. To be quite honest, I really couldn't give two farts about this. Now, I know this might sound like musical heresy, but to me, they are just all right. I know, they have influenced countless musicians, blah blah blah, and if you tune right now to any classic rock station, there's at least a 50% chance they are playing Led Zep right now.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, that's too strong. I'm just terribly indifferent to the Led Zep movement - maybe it was just before my time, maybe it was because they straight-up ripped off songs of other artists without due credit. And just the thought of a Led Zep renaissance makes me cringe: 24 hours of "A Whole Lotta Love" really doesn't excite me, as if they aren't overplayed already.

I'm confused. What does this have to do with Bigfoot? Is he playing with Zep at the concert?

They were both big in the 70s, they're both hairy, and both are older than dirt, past their prime and looking for $$$ (or £££, as the case may be).

I'm with you, Redbeard--they never did much for me.

(I liked your review of The Tudors!!!)

While I do like me some Zep I can appreciate it when someone doesn't like them. Check out an mp3 of Screeching Weasel's "I hate Led Zepplin". To hear another band write a song dedicated to hating these legends always seemed very ballsy to me. I can dig it.

IANO: No question, they do rawk. They've always just been sort of meh for me.

Bacon dude: Thanks for that, I'll have to check it out.
